What you should know if you are hurt in a slip-and-fall accident

People of all ages fall, and are injured, in the Province of Ontario, each day. The locations and reasons behind these incidents vary widely depending on the specific circumstances. If the incident takes place on the property of another, because that property was not maintained the way it should have been, it may be possible to recover damages for the injuries suffered. This could be accomplished via an occupier’s liability lawsuit.

Is eye contact the key to reducing pedestrian accidents?

As we have discussed in previous posts, when pedestrians are struck by cars, the injuries they suffer are often serious. Reducing the situations in which these incidents occur is just one of many reasons why carmakers are always seeking to improve technologies that stop vehicles before they come into contact with other objects. While there is no question this technology can be beneficial, this does not mean other methods, arguably simpler methods, should be overlooked.

Returning to work after disability leave

Most of us rely upon a job to make ends meet. When someone becomes disabled due to injury or illness, they may be unable to work for a period of time. While in some cases the disability makes it impossible for that worker to ever return to his or her job, other times, after a period of recovery, a worker could find that he or she is ready to go back.

Fatal snowmobile accidents claim lives every year in Ontario

Throughout Canada in the winter, residents and visitors alike enjoy engaging in outdoor recreational activities. One of the most exciting for many is snowmobiling. Currently more than 600,000 snowmobiles are legally registered in the country. To put the popularity of the activity in Canada into perspective, last year more than one-third of the snowmobiles sold throughout the world, were purchased by Canadians.

Some Toronto area schools in need of repairs

Each day parents throughout Ontario send their children off to school to learn. Few, if any, likely spend much time worrying about whether the school environment is safe. While much of the time this is the case, there are times where a child could be hurt. The parents of a Grade 2 student at a Toronto area school know this all too well.
