Disability Claims

Most of us rely upon a job to make ends meet. When someone becomes disabled due to injury or illness, they may be unable to work for a period of time. While in some cases the disability makes it impossible for that worker to ever return to his or her job, other times, after a period of recovery, a worker could find that he or she is ready to go back.

Though it may be hard to fathom, when someone suffers a serious injury, in an accident that leads to a permanent disability, their life will be changed forever. In addition to being emotionally and physically difficult to adapt to, it can also be expensive. Disabled individuals, who are unable to work as a result of the injury, may experience difficulties in paying these expenses.

Disabled individuals reside throughout Canada, including the province of Ontario. When a disability makes it impossible for someone to continue to hold a job, he or she may want to apply for disability benefits from the Canada Pension Plan. As is the case with most governmental plans, to succeed there are multiple guidelines that need to be followed. If those rules are not followed, it can be difficult to secure the benefits.
