Car accidents: Woman dies in motorcycle crash

A motorcyclist is dead following a crash with a car near the Brick Works, according to local sources. Police in Toronto, Ontario responded to the accident that claimed the life of an unidentified woman. As with most car accidents, this case is under investigation.

The specifics of the accident are still under review, but it has been confirmed that the crash involved a passenger car and a motorcycle. The victim was the sole rider of the motorcycle, which reportedly collided with the car around 8:15 p.m. the night of July 8. Emergency response crews found the woman in critical condition with no vital signs. She was rushed to a local hospital where she was later pronounced dead.

The accident report goes on to say that one other individual was treated by paramedics on the scene. It did not specify whether this was the driver of the car or a passenger in that vehicle. Police closed down most of the road where the accident took place to facilitate their investigation. At this point, they have not filed charges against the other driver involved in the tragic crash.

As with most car accidents, the investigation will continue until the cause of the accident is fully documented. If it becomes clear that the driver of the car was in some way materially responsible for causing the crash, that individual could face criminal charges. Even if Ontario police do not file any formal charges, it may still be possible for the family of the deceased woman to file a wrongful death suit in civil court. Sufficient evidence of negligence on the part of the car driver would be necessary if the court was to award damages to the family.
